Eli Stone and Pushing Daisies Will Be No More:(

Well... several TV shows Nora and I like are basically being cancelled (though ABC did not say the word).

Pushing Daisies and Eli Stone.  And they are keeping Wife Swap and SuperNanny... sigh, what is this world coming to?  Two more creative, interesting and different (and very good) TV shows falling before the "lowest common denominator" ratings system they have on TV.

Stone hasn't been as good this year, although it was the highest rated of the 3 shows being canned (Dirty, Sexy, Money is also cancelled).  And the last couple episodes were better, getting back to the standard that made it so good last season.  Daisies won a bunch of Emmy's and was one of the more creative and different shows on TV.  It's been quite good this year as well as last.  I don't think there is another show like it.

Well, at least our new favorite Life on Mars will continue for a bit longer...

Was "Pushing Daisies" the Barry Sonnenfeld-produced one? If so, I've heard only good things about it and its creativity.

Yes, Pushing Daises was created by Brian Fuller and produced by Sonnenfeld's company or something. It is a very creative show, a great mix of a kind of fantasy with reality. Visually it is like jumping into Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as a detective film, and the dialogue has a unique, funny, ironic, sarcastic, twisting tone that is just fun.

And it is a joyful and upbeat show. It will be missed.
