This is very interesting... From the Newsweek Society, via MSNBC.
The Barna Group has been around for a while, checking up on the Christian community. The 5 points, by this Jewish Rabbi are very good.
Some of the news is good, Evangelicals give more, give longer, and volunteer more than any other group period. That there are many "Christian revolutionaries" who "are really passionate Christians who have no patience for the moribund bureaucracy of organized church life."
But most is negative. The lack of prayer in the church. The shrinking of the black church (which Barna says is the result of wealth). The illiteracy of Christians about the Bible.
Anyway, sobering (as a Christian) and challenging... can we be the revolutionaries who are sold out to Christ, know what we believe and pray?

Yes, very interesting and challenging.
You would have to be blind to not see that these findings are exemplified in most churches.
For those of us who are older, it is also disturbing to see that the entire American culture has so little knowledge of even the most basic Bible stories. One cannot understand much of literature without knowing anything about the Bible.
And it seems as if many Christians have no interest in Bible doctrine, which I consider imperative for Chirstian living.
I am glad that my church is trying to put the things here in high priority.
