Engagement details

Okay, so I am writing about this because I said I would... and I want to write about something else, but I feel I need to do this first:) Not that it is a big deal to write about, I mean, I won't tire of the telling!

On August 31st Amy and I went to Taylors Falls, MN. There are some trails there along the St. Croix river. We had planned on doing this a few weeks before, so she had NO clue I would pop the question! I had even gotten her misled by talking about engagement like it would be in October... anyway.

We had lunch, just a picnic of sandwitches (my comment on the question of was I hungry, "not really..."). She and I were laughing at something, I don't know what, but it was a long time:D Then we went on the hike.

At one point, not much after it started, we found an overlook with a bench (the one in the picture). We sat down to look at the view. After talking a bit, I said, "What time is it?". She didn't have a watch, but looked at mine and said it was 4pm. I said, "Well, there is a question I have to ask you." I then began getting the ring, which was in the box, out of my pocket, and she started saying something about, no way... she says she thought, "He doesn't have the ring, don't read anything into this". I then got on one knee, and said "Amy Jeanne Tate, will you marry me?". Her first words were, "NO WAY, SHUT UP!!!" and then she cried, and said yes:D

We were talking, crying, what have you for about 10 minutes, and then a guy named Ed came along, and he took our picture.

Anyway, that is how it happened. I have no idea if the hike there is any good, but I sure liked it!

For those who are wondering, the wedding date hasn't been decided. A few dates we had thought of are not working out for various reasons. I will keep you all posted. It will be sometime in the spring however.

Thanks for the story. Crying? Will, were you crying? ;)

I laughed heartily after Jonathan asked me because he surprised me big time. I suppose it's not exactly polite to simply laugh but I DID say "yes" in between the laughing.....
