I did see Mad Max and The Road Warrior over the weekend. For those who are not film freaks, those are the two films that put Mel Gibson on the map. About the near future, after nuclear war, where the people all live on the road and drive really fast. He is a cop, and the movie is filled with explosions, car chases, guns, etc. Road Warrior is a sequel, about how he helps a group of people who refine gas beat the bad biker dudes.
That description of the two sounds bad. I actually liked them. It was wierd to see Mel when he was 24, and hear his accent. They apparently dubbed his voice in again for world release because he used such a heavy one originally. It was also wierd to realize that Mad Max was made in 1979, which happens to be the year I was born.
Anyway, if you like car chases, realistic violence and mayhem and Mel Gibson... you'll love these movies!
Other than that, I have been watching through my Looney Tunes Golden Collection Vol. 1 again. LOTS of fun. The documentaries are worth checking out. Those guys were nuts, and they were given ALOT of freedom to persue what they wanted to make, as opposed to having a studio dictating what the shorts should look, sound, and feel like.
Anyway... that is a post for now! More on the way... as soon as I get a chance to see something in the theater, or something funky happens to me:)
