For some reason this really made me sad. Which is hard to explain, because I wasn't a fan or anything.
I did like Heath Ledger as an actor. After a few years where his career had stalled he was finally getting places recently.
Maybe it is that I am his age (he was born in April 79 and I in May 79). Maybe it's that he seemed so much more well adjusted to life than others, and unlikely to do something like this (they think he may have overdosed on drugs).
Whatever it is, I think I will miss him. Strange, I've never really felt this way about an actors death...

Yes, I was sad too, but also not a fan. Anytime a promising life is snuffed short is very sad.
It was certainly stunning.
It does also cause me to stop again and wonder what makes people adore the concept of Celebrity so much. 28-year-olds and younger are dying all around the world, but Ledger is the one who makes headlines.
(I'm not ragging on your own reaction, I'm just pondering. Like when Tom Cruise became a father -- well, good for him, but why is HIS child news and mine only made the Redmond newspaper? It's a strange thing, Celebrity-ism.)
