Interesting things happening today. North Korea tested a nuke. Jimmy Carter famously brokered an agreement with them in the 90's, but it appears that they duped him and everyone again. Appeasement never works.
In CT, some idiot is trying to get the City of Bridgeport to make an area of Brigeport where heroin trade is regulated, i.e. possession is okay... how stupid is that? Again, if we just stop fighting it, maybe it will go away... how dumb. The only way to stop the heroin trade is to get people not to want it. That means creating business and job opportunities for those in Bridgeport, abolishing welfare, which allows people to live on a dole, and fighting to keep it off the streets!
And third, it seems that evangelical Christians aren't falling for the Foley smear campaign. They are saying that they are voting for Republicans because a.) they perceive them as being less tolerant of the homosexual lifestyle, b.) it seems like a smear campaign, and c.) they believe in personal sin and personal guilt, not in some sort of collective guilt.
I think the last point is true. Christians see Foley as being responsible for his own morality, not for the morality of his party. And frankly, that is exactly how I feel.
Anyway... interesting news.

Dems think the shock factor of the Foley revelations will keep Evangelicals (and other morally-focussed voters) away from the polls. What they do not realize is that by resigning PROMPTLY and without excuse, Foley has satisfied our concerns. Add to that the current police investigation, and we believe justice will be done.
A better target for their ire (and for the disaffection of Evangelicals) would be pointing out the true moral weaknesses of potential leaders. For example, Rudy Guiliani's messy divorce and public infidelities, not to mention his pro-abortion stance.
Yeah, i agree. As it says in the article, it is personal morality that seems to matter Christians (which is true of me). So someone like Guiliani, though I think he is a great leader and I respect him, and even like him, I don't think he would gain wide spread support. His morality is in question. As you said, not to mention his pro abortion stance, which totally turns me off.
