5 years ago the world changed. We went from being spectators to others dealing with terrorism, to victims of the greatest terrorist attack on record. Not that we didn't have advanced warning, or know that it might happen. Anyone who saw the first part of "The Path To 9/11" can tell you that. But it had not been impressed on the public before that.
We should never forget what happened. We should never forget that our safety here is predicated on our victory against the terrorists where THEY are.
One thing about the movie is that you see how the terrorists adapted to all of our security measures. The thwarted attack in England should tell you that they still are adapting. We can NEVER be safe if we only attempt to prevent attacks by upping security here. We MUST go after them WHERE THEY ARE. We must keep getting intelligence that informs us of their plans before they happen.
We must be vigilant. But we must NEVER give in to them. Terror works by creating fear. Don't give in to fear. They want us to stop flying. They want us to stop building tall buildings.
Don't give in to fear.
So... remember 9/11, 2001 today. Remember the families of the victims. Remember the armed forces that are fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan to ensure our security. Pray for them all.
Remember...
