Caspian

If you read this blog enough, or know me well, you know that I enjoy varied types of music. Well, I just found ANOTHER band I like:)

Actually, an old friend from back in Massachusetts is in this band. The leader is a good friend of another friend of mine here in CT.

The band is called Caspian... they are instrumental rock. They have
a sound that is immediately riveting, emotionally devastating, and achingly passionate. Characterized by towering walls of sound, oceanic guitar work and viscious rythymic elements, Caspian is a band that knows how to imbed itself within the part of you that refuses to easily surrender.

Which is, admittedly, from a fan website, but it does describe the music. It is very layered, very slick, and really interesting and emotional. You can hear samples here.

So... listen... enjoy...:) You can read more about the band here, in a feature article from the Boston Globe.

So... no vocals, then, eh? The music is interesting, but not the kind of thing I'd want to listen to on the way to work. Then again, I doubt that was their target. :-)
