I have to admit... I am very tempted to buy one of these:) The whole separation of church and state thing is getting way out of hand... I mean... what do they think we are buying things for? Everyone, including most Jews and Muslims in this country, will give other people the items they are buying on December 25... which is called CHRISTMAS. Not some generic holiday... And as for the goverment... it's okay to have a Happy Kwanzaa sign and a menorah on the town hall lawn, but have a manger scene and boy, any Christmas... excuse me, "Holiday"... Cheer goes out the window.
See, what people can't stand is that, for better or ill, this man who lived and walked 2000 years ago has done more to affect the lives of people today than anyone else in history. We date TIME by the year of his birth. The world's most prevalent religion is based on his life, and he factors into 2 others (Jewish people admit he lived and was a great teacher, as do Muslims, who have some wierd and surprising beliefs about him).
And for all the malarky about how his message is one of peace, people sure don't want to follow it. Maybe that is because he claimed, and proved by his life and death, to be God.
And if He was God... You aren't.
And that is bad news if you want to be in control of your own life!
Anyway, have a Merry Christmas season!

Um, it should be noticed that at least one of the graphics there is the "Buddy Christ" from the Kevin Smith movie DOGMA. While I happen to enjoy much of Mr. Smith's humor, you have to wonder how many Christians would want to be wearing a shirt bearing a likeness from a movie with more F-words than a Dictionary-makers convention.
Fair warning.
How long do you think it will take Christians (myself included) to take a real stand against this discrimination? It's not really a matter of them taking our religious freedom away from us; we're handing it over.
Don't give up the Holidays . . . just be more specific!
Happy Holy Days and
Merry Christmas
I am adamant about this. Say "Merry Christmas" if you knw the person you are talking to celebrates it. Otherwise, "Happy Holidays" is fine. But even some of my Christian friends have been using the generic greeting.
It has been a pet peeve of mine for some time that peole use the "Happy Holiday" greeting even at Thanksgiving and July 4th, when there is no doubt as to which holiday one is referring.
