Michael Flaherty

Well... I had a special opportunity last night to see Michael Flaherty IN PERSON.

You say "So what?"

See, you don't know who he is. If you did, you would be saying, "WHOA!!! COOL!!"

Michael Flaherty started a little company you may have heard of... it is called Walden Media.

Let me get the big thing out of the way... after several tries (the DVD was scratched or something) they finally got the "supertrailer" to work, and I got to see 10 minutes of footage from The Chronicles of Narnia, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.

Yes, THE Chronicles of Narnia movie. Flaherty is the heart behind that project. I was at a men's meeting at Grace Chapel in Lexington, MA, (yep, same Lexington, the one near Concord...) and he happens to go to that church, so they had him speak!

He shared his testimony, and about the project, and entertained questions. He is a very personable, down to earth type guy. He started Walden because he wanted to produce films that are meaningful, relevant, and excellent. He is definitely a spirit filled Christian, and one who wants to live his faith, not just talk about it.

Anyway, it was very cool, the questions were neat, his answers were interesting, encouraging and fun, and the film looks AWESOME! Great look to the film, it looks like great acting, and they captured the fun of the books. This is NOT Lord of the Rings... it is much more fun and light. Not that there aren't scary and intest looking scenes!

Anyway, it was worth the 3 hour drive to see him and the movie clips. I went with my dad, and we were able to talk with him afterward (he knows my dad's agent, and that was neat) and we may be able to get together in New York next week if his schedule allows. I was also able to connect up with a good friend who I hadn't seen in a while, and my dad was able to do so as well (different friend).

All in all, great time. I am definitely excited about this movie... now if December 9 would only come...

Oh, one interesting note... they finished it this past Saturday... so it is DONE!

How awesome! We are planning on seeing the movie for our annual Family Christmas Movie. Now I'm looking forward to it even more.

p.s. I noticed in your profile you enjoy almost anything of C.S. Lewis' books. Have you read Surprised By Joy? It made me want to stay clear of any other of his books.
