Great city, lots of history, neat shops, neat restaurants. It is one of the few cities in Europe (at least large cities) that wasn't bombed during either of the wars, so it still has that old world feel and charm. There is also alot of literary and musical history, and protestant reformation history. One of the more stricking and immediate things is that this was a communist city, and the site of the Bloodless Revolution under Vaclav Havel (which is a misleading name. The revolution wasn't bloody, but the time leading up to it was). The Czechs are very pro American (the main train station, Hlavni Nadrazi, is on Wilsonova Ulice (Wilson Street) which is named after Woodrow Wilson.)
Plus it is just a really pretty city, with a scenic river going through it, and the castle with the cathedral on top of a hill overlooking the city.
Man, I want to go back... It also helps that it is one side of my heritage:)
Anyway, I added a link to Czech Tourism:)
