The Crusaders

A friend sent me this article, which is in the April Rolling Stone I believe.

I had a couple thoughts as I read this. One was how vitriolic the article was. I havn't seen this much anger directed straight at Christians in a "main stream" publication in a long time. The second was, "hey, they are afraid of us!". The third was that the writer completely missed the real message of Christianity and of even the gathering he was talking about.

Christians are not warlike soldiers in the sense he is thinking. We battle against "the principalities and powers of this dark world" not against "flesh and blood". No true Christian is going to go kill people, they aren't going to bomb buses and restaurants the way the Muslims do. They are not fighting humans but spiritual beings. Victory isn't in getting the government to be more "Right Wing", although that is a goal, and it is seen as an indicator of victory. Victory is in changing hearts and minds of people, and sharing with them the love of Christ.

Yes, we would like America to return to it's Christian roots (which are there whether Mr. Moser likes it or not), and we are going to do everything we can, WITHIN THE LAW to get it there. Trying to win elections, trying to get good judges on the benches, trying to change the media culture are all legitimate legal things to do, and Mr. Moser and his collegues are trying to do the SAME THING for their side.

So yes, we are in a war. But we know that we will win eventually. This article is an indicator of how much we are achieving the victory we seek.
