The highlight of the voice work is, of course, Robin Williams. His character is just like William’s stand up routines without all the cursing and raunchy material. Funny and VERY crazy. He goes into various characters, comments on pop culture, and general sounds like he was having a lot of fun with the character.
The rest of the cast is well done as well. Ewan McGregor anchors the story, and the rest come and go as needed, all providing the characters with voices that are perfect for their personalities. All bring the right pathos, drama, tragedy and everything that you need. But, the main thing is the humor, the comedy, and THAT is great.
This film has all sorts of little jokes in the backround, from the names or logo’s of various companies, to the characters themselves. And the film knows when to launch into a joke riff on some item, be it a sly reference to the inability of anyone to understand what the information person at a bus stop is saying, or a side joke involving Star Wars, or whatever.
The film moves along well, it doesn’t seem rushed, but also doesn’t lag. And it has a great message. Be you, whoever you are. Don’t try to be someone else, or be popular, don’t rely on the outward appearance, look inside.
Great flick, up there with Pixar’s stuff, which is saying something!

My own review of ROBOTS is that is NOWHERE near Pixar. No real message, no real strong plot. But it is a nice and fun movie. Kind of the cotton candy of film - bright and sweet, but when you bite into it nothing is really there.
