Two days ago, I got rid of the car... I will miss it. It handled extremely well and was cool looking... great car. But it had its share of problems. Body work... LOTS of body work needed to be done. Engine had... issues:) In fact, when I drove it to the junkyard place, ALL the hoses to the water pump were leaking by the time I got there! Probably because it hasn't been driven much since about April, but...
So, though I miss the car in terms of the fun it was to drive, I am glad it is gone. Now... back to work on my red 1979 Fiat Spider 2000...:)
Below is a picture of what an X 1/9 looks like. Cool car. 5 speed manual transmission, 1.5 litre mid mounted engine, removable hard top... neat car.

Having had the pleasure of driving that red fiat once or twice, it's a nice ride. Except for NYC traffic, I'm guessing you're going to miss the 5 speed manual transmission.
Ah yes...the green Fiat was my ride with Will on a fun trip in August 2000. We had so much luggage that we had to strap my suitcase on the back on top of the trunk.
Then it started raining. :)
I have fond memories of our road trip in that car, from Connecticut to Pennsylvania to Washington DC.
Now, would you rather have a 1979 Fiat Spyder 2000, or a 2000 Fiat Spyder 1979?
